A portrait afternoon yesterday at Queen Mary University London, updating shots for the Law Dept faculty. A nice and simple one-light setup with a reflector providing a bit of fill, utilising the stylish wooden panelling on the staff room wall, and everyone is looking a lot more professional. Check out the before/after to see what a difference some well-considered portraits can make.
As is often the case, I heard a lot of “I hate having my photograph taken” and “I’m not photogenic at all.” But as always happens, a nice and relaxed 5-10 mins with each subject and everyone is now much happier – and pleasantly surprised! – with their new portrait. Job done!
